StadtLABOR – Innovationen für urbane Lebensqualität is a private company that focuses on applied research, innovation and knowledge transfer in the field of sustainable-smart cities. Core activities include the design and implementation of urban transformation processes at the neighbourhood and district scales through an interdisciplinary, creative, and experimental approach.
Following the principles of open innovation, design thinking, living labs and tactical urbanism, these cooperative processes lead to integrated and innovative urban development concepts for new districts and neighbourhoods. Capacity building, knowledge sharing, evaluation, awareness raising and dissemination activities are central to the StadtLABOR approach. StadtLABOR serves as an intermediary between different stakeholder groups including municipalities, private companies, housing developers, investors, NGO, citizens and civil society organisations.
