Cosmopolis Centre for Urban Research
Belgium
The Cosmopolis Centre for Urban Research is in the Department of Geography at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. This research group of around 55 researchers has extensive experience in leading and contributing to national and international urban research networks, including JPI Urban Europe projects (Cities of Making, SoHoLab, and LOOPER). The researchers conduct situated, co-creative and action research in Brussels and transform knowledge into action by working with local citizen groups, civil society organisations, entrepreneurs, local governments, and policymakers. The research involves diverse themes related to spatial planning and urban design such as socio-ecological transitions, foundational and circular economies, housing, and mobility.
